A great value winter warmer that the whole family will love. This Super Simple Cottage Pie takes just 15 minutes to put together with Minced Beef and Mixed Veg straight from the freezer so there is zero prep time involved. Using our frozen Mashed Potato means you’ll have no peeling, boiling or mashing to do either, so this is the perfect recipe for when you’re short on time! See method

What you’ll need

Ingredients

• Iceland Minced Beef and Onion
• 1 cup of Iceland Mixed Vegetables
• Iceland Perfect Mash Potato
• A handful of Iceland Grated Cheddar Cheese
• Iceland Whole Green Beans
• Vegetable Oil 2 tbsp
• 2x Beef Stock Cubes
• Worcestershire Sauce 2 tbsp
• Tomato Puree 2 tbsp
• Salt and Pepper

Utensils

• Frying pan
• Serving dish
• Spoon
• Fork

Method

  1. Put your pan on the hob over a medium heat. Add the oil and leave it for 1 minute until hot.
  2. Add the mince and onion and the beef stock cubes, stirring fairly frequently, for about 5 minutes until the mince is brown.
  3. Add in 1 cup of mixed frozen veg, Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree and stir, cook for another 5 minutes until the veg is soft.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a serving dish and neatly top with frozen mashed potato pellets.
  5. Microwave the whole dish for 3-4 minutes until soft, then use a fork to fluff up the potato pellets.
  6. Serve with your favourite green veg, this time we’ve used green beans. And for an extra treat, add a sprinkle of grated cheese and pop under the grill until crispy!
