Method
- To install grill plate, position it flat on top of the heating element so it sits in place, then close lid. Use pellet scoop to pour pellets into smoke box until filled to top. Plug probe into the top jack labelled “1” on the left side of the control panel.
- Select GRILL. Select WOODFIRE FLAVOUR. Set grill temperature to HI. Set the probe to BEEF and select desired cook level (NOTE: For dual probe usage, plug probe 2 into the bottom jack labelled “2”, set to BEEF and select desired cook level).
- Select START to begin preheating.
- Brush each steak on all sides with 1½ tablespoons oil, then season with salt and pepper. Insert probe horizontally into the centre of the thickest part of the largest steak. Toss asparagus with remaining oil, then season with salt and pepper.
- When unit beeps to signify it has preheated and ADD FOOD displays, open lid and place steaks on the grill plate, gently pressing them down to maximise grill marks. Close lid over probe cord to begin cooking. Flip the steaks halfway through cooking when the display reads FLIP.
- Place asparagus on grill plate and close lid. Select GRILL. Set temperature to HI and set time to approx. 8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the asparagus. Select START to begin cooking. Skip preheat, by pressing the START/STOP button for 4 seconds. Toss halfway through cooking.
- Place asparagus on grill plate and close lid. Grill for remaining 8 minutes, depending on thickness of the asparagus.
- When cooking is complete, open lid and remove asparagus from the grill. Slice steaks and serve with asparagus.
