  • Large Pan
  • Whisk

Method

  1. In a pan, melt the butter and cook the diced onion until it's soft. Add the plain flour and stir for 1 minute.
  2. Gradually add the milk while whisking, then bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens. Add half the cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the frozen spinach to the sauce and stir until it's thawed and heated through. Then add the frozen fish pie mix.
  4. Microwave your perfect mash as per the on-pack instructions. Our perfect mash is perfect by nature, as it means no peeling, pre-boiling or mashing your own potatoes - saving on both time and energy costs.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a large ovenproof dish and top with the perfect mash. Use a fork to fluff up the mash on top, as neat or as messy as you'd like!
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark 6, until the mash is golden, and the fish is cooked.
  7. Serve with frozen peas, green beans or Jamie Oliver's favourite - baked beans!
