  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200g cooked rice (prepare in advance or use pre-cooked rice)
  • 150g black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 2 small tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small avocado, sliced
  • Hot sauce (to taste)
  • 2 large flour tortillas

Utensils

  • Frying pan
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Small saucepan (optional, for reheating rice or beans)
  • Microwave or additional frying pan (for warming tortillas)

Method

  1. Cook the No Steaks whole. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the No Steaks on each side until browned and heated through. Remove from the pan and let rest, then slice into thin strips using a sharp knife.
  2. Warm the rice and beans (optional).Heat the rice and black beans in a small saucepan over a low heat or in the microwave until warm.
  3. Prepare the tortillas. Warm the tortillas in a dry frying pan or microwave to make them pliable.
  4. Assemble the burritos. Lay a tortilla flat and add a portion of cooked rice to the centre. Layer diced tomatoes, black beans, and avocado slices on top of the rice. Arrange the sliced No Steak strips over the fillings. Drizzle with hot sauce to taste.
  5. Wrap the burrito. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to seal. Toast the burritos in a dry frying pan on each side for a crispy finish, if desired.
  6. Enjoy warm with additional hot sauce or lime wedges on the side.
